From the outside, I must admit, we weren't expecting much. But visiting from Tucson, this very much reminded us of Sonoran Mexican food. There was machaca and Jamaica on the menu, which are hard to find in NM. I had the breakfast burrito (seemed the same as Rigoberto's in Green Valley, AZ!) and my wife had the chile rellenos burrito with a horchata. Yum! We were delighted with the tasty food and the horchata was some of the best we have ever had. Los Alamos is certainly not a foodie location, but Rigoberto's is a great place to stop. My in-laws said this spot used to be a Pizza Hut, and the decor inside fails to hide that fact. The joint isn't fancy and lacks most creature comforts, so feel free to get your food to go. You might be happier that way. :)

A nice little taco shop for lunch in Los Alamos. I had two beef tacos (shredded, not ground) and a carne abodada taco. They were delicious, and there is a nice salsa bar with good green chile. Went with my coworkers on a visit to LANL, including some guys who know good Mexican cuisine, and they liked it/ se habla espanol. One coworker really liked the rolled tacos. Quick/courteous service. Decor was maybe uninspiring, but comfortable. Near a lot of office space and downtown Los Alamos. Try it for your lunch hour! You won't regret it.

This place is good. It's NOT New Mexican food, but traditional Mexican tacqueria. It's kind of hard to find in a very oddly laid out town, and it's pretty much a hole in the wall when you do find it. The dining area is very simple. Nothing fancy. The menu is extensive, though, and the food is great. There is also a salsa bar with a couple of very, very good salsas. It would come back here!

Great Mexican food in Los Alamos! I recommend tacos and carne asada. The food is not expensive and be prepared to have quite an amount at your plate. Moreover, the environment is simple and familiar.

The best, the only, authentic Mexican food in town. The carne asada tacos are amazing. I've been to Mexico many times and these are the real deal. The pico, quac and cilantro are always fresh. They have a small salsa bar where you can eat your heart out. The chips are made to order and are perfect with their red salsa. The prices are great too.

In short, this place is amazing. It's not pretty, but the food is fantastic! The long version: I stopped at Bathtub Row for some drinks first (good beer BTW) but wanted some actual food after so I walked next door to Rigoberto's. I got the #17, 2 burritos, one carne asada and one adobada. The adobada burrito with their green chili salsa was phenomenal! The avacados in the burrito are the perfect balance to cut the heat in the adobada. I've been traveling to Los Alamos for about a year and a half every few months and this is the first time I found this place. It feels like a well kept secret that nobody wanted me find out about. Easily the best meal I've had in this town to date. The restaurant itself looks like a run down defunct pizza parlor from the 80's but the food they put out with a distinct New Mexican flavor is just plain delicious. It has most certainly made my list for "must eat here at least once when in Los Alamos" I still haven't had the carne asada yet as I took it with me to finish another day, but if it's even half as good as the adobada though... Well, you get the picture.

We popped in to get a "snack" after trying the beers at Bathtub Brewery, and ordered two shredded beef tostadas. They were huge and delicious! The re-fried beans were incredibly flavorful (probably because they were more unhealthy than when I make them myself); the beef was juicy; and the grilled onions and green bell peppers were a tasty touch. This place seems like a yummy, no-frills greasy Mexican food joint (although the tacos are "American" style with shredded lettuce and cheese instead of "Mexican" style with onions and cilantro). The restaurant is clean, but definitely minimal as for ambience.

In the tradition of great mom and pop shops everywhere, it ain't pretty but it sure is good. Chorizo plate was fab, and damn if the beans and rice weren't magically delicious as well. (I normally avoid restaurant rice and beans like the plague , as these staples are often boring filler). Fish tacos solid, basic with a nice tartar. Well priced for what you get, and obviously a popular choice, as while we were there at least half a dozen people came in for to go orders.

Great Mexican food. Somewhat strange strip mall setting....very clean but absolutely no ambience whatsoever. Was really glad that we stopped here on our way through town...the food was fresh and delicious. Only criticism I would have is the prepackaged guacamole (Sams Club/Costco style purée) rather than fresh. Salsa Bar is a nice way to add extra flavored and spices to the dishes. Staff was very friendly and the service quick!

Fairly authentic real Mexican (not SWmex or TexMex) stand food with counter service. Large portions and pretty good prices. I like the pickled carrots and salsa bar. Good to pick up dinner and head next door for a brew.

I love this place! The food is tasty, and very reasonable. If you like Mexican food, El Rigoberto's is well worth seeking out. This is easily my favorite restaurant in Los Alamos, and I highly recommend it.
